Learning French

We have had lots of clients who tell us how they would like to learn French. So for 2007 we have prepared a classroom on the second floor for those of you who would like to learn French while staying with us. We have partnered up with a company who can offer our clients tailor made classes. There is also the possibility of daily excursions with a guide so that you can discover the Languedoc Roussillon in all its splendour. If you are interested in learning French while staying with us do let us know in advance so that we can budget and organise this for you.

Have a Massage

For 2007 we have reserved a special studio for massages. You can request to have a massage either in your apartment or in the studio dedicated to this service. Wonderful relaxing massages preformed by a professional, you can choose from a relaxing body massage, or a head, feet and/or back massage.
Marie-Thérèse will help you unwind on your holiday.
Let us know if you would like to make an appointment during your stay.

Swimming Pool

Our swimming pool contains no chlorine and is cleaned by UV and active oxygen. There is a jet stream in the pool for those of you who would like some exercise. We have an alarm system in the pool that goes off in the event something weighing 5 kilos or more falls in the pool. The entire pool is also surrounded by a wooden barrier.

Garden

We have two hanging chairs in the garden as well as a hammock. Children are allowed to run freely in the garden. We have deliberately not planted fragile or delicate flowers so that we don’t have to worry about children walking on them or pulling them to bits as our own children would do! We have three herb beds that contain various culinary, aromatic and medicinal herbs. These herbs are for your use so do not hesitate to pick some fresh basil for your salads, rosemary for your dishes and vervein and mint for your herbal teas. There is a stationary barbecue for use in the garden just in front of the pool house, there is also a smaller barbecue that you can use on your terrace.
The garden is surrounded by a 2 metre wall and only those staying in the Couvent des Ursulines have access to the garden. To enter the premises there is an access code which opens the front door. The code is changed on a regular basis and is given to clients on arrival.
You will find also the dustbins near the front door, Pezenas has installed a mini recycling process that is outlined in a booklet that will be in your apartment.

Food Shopping

We are fortunate here in Pezenas to have a wonderful organic shop, Distribio, that carries practically all and everything you need. It is run by Nathalie and François and is within walking distance (7mins). Open Tues-Sat 9:00-12:30 15:00-19:30.
There are also way too many supermarkets. We have 3 discount supermarkets, Lidl, Netto and Leader Price. Two main supermarkets Champion and Intermarché and a small supermarket in town call Huit à Huit. We would encourage you to do your shopping in the market on Saturdays: Food stalls are available from 8:00-12:00 and the rest stays on until 17:00. However, since most of you will be arriving on Saturdays this is not always possible. Some shops are open on Sunday mornings; a wonderful grocery shop called Clerc, on the main square by the church sells great cheeses, hams, fruits, veggies and many other delicious products. He does not sell organic food nor fair trade and more often than not his products are from the four corners of France. But we cannot deny that he does choose his products with care and they are almost always of great quality, with the price to match. After 12:30 on Sundays it is next to impossible to go food shopping. You will have to wait until Monday. And if you do go to a supermarket we suggest that you spend your money in Champion as the owner spent 20 years doing humanitarian work all over the world and he sells the most organic and fair trade products ever seen in a supermarket.
And for you coffee lovers we run a small shop, Cardamone Café, in Pezenas where we roast our own coffee. So for the best espressos, cappuccinos and coffee beans in town drop by, we are located right behind the post office in the centre of town.
